1. There is No Ignorant Faith. Hosea 4:6 - My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. NIV. Romans 10:17 says that faith comes from hearing the message. Hearing the message brings knowledge. Romans 12:2 tells us to renew our minds with the Word of God. This transformation also brings knowledge. Don't be destroyed by a lack of knowledge. 2. There is No Sad Faith. Acts 27:25 - Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me. NKJV. Faith should not be depressing or miserable. You should take heart - cheer up - believe and know that God is going to see you through. Get encouraged, no matter what is going on around you. Habakkuk 3:17-18 - Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. NIV. It's easy to rejoice when storms pass, but it takes faith to be of good cheer - to rejoice even through the storms of life. 3. There is No Silent Faith. Two component of the spirit of faith are believing in your heart and speaking with your mouth. Listed here are just a few verses to this effect. Mark 11:22-24 - "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours..." NIV. Romans 10:9-10 - That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. NIV. Revelation 12:11 - They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony... NIV These are three of my favorites, but as I look through the Strong concordance, I see hundreds of references for "believe" and "speak." I urge you to look up these words and verses, and see how many pertain to these two components of the spirit of faith. 4. There is No Mad Faith. Mark 11:25 - And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him... NIV. Faith works by love. The number one obstacle to faith is unforgiveness. The Bible tells us to pray continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and to forgive others when we pray. As we pray and forgive, we should also ask God to bless those we need to forgive. Luke 6:28 - Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. NIV. God will enlarge your heart and do something supernatural in your life.
