Final Thoughts

Joshua 1:8 - Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. NIV.

There are three key elements in this verse that tells us how to live by faith.

1. Speak God's Word.
2. Meditate on God's Word.
3. Live according to God's Word.

As you speak, meditate and live by God's Word, your faith will grow. You must put God's Word in your heart, so your mouth speaks it, because speaking God's Word is how we defeat the enemy.

When Jesus was tempted, He said - "It is written..." He spoke God's Word to defeat the enemy.

Isaiah 49:2 - He made my mouth like a sharpened sword... NIV.

Isaiah 57:19 - ...and My words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth... NIV.

Romans 10:8-10 - But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. NIV.

Faith will not speak contrary to God's Word. Don't say - "I am sick..." - that is an evil report, contrary to God's Word (Isaiah 33:24). You should speak in faith - "I am healed..." which is what God says (Isaiah 53:5).

Revelation 12:11 - They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony... NIV.

Confession builds the road over which faith brings its cargo. As the word of our testimony (confession), line up with God's Word, the blood of the Lamb is applied, redeeming us from the curse of the law.

But be aware, victory through faith almost never comes fast and easy, as we would prefer. There are things that we must go through to reach our "Promised Land." We need to fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12), and wait patiently on God's perfect timing.
