Proverbs 22:18-19 - For it is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips. So that your trust may be in the LORD... NIV This is where many Christians miss the mark. Sometimes we walk around speaking God's Word, and then wonder why these things are not coming to pass in our lives. Two reasons might be... 1. We are asking for something that is not of God's will. 2. We do not believe in our heart. Romans 8:27 - And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. NIV In Mark 11:22-24 - Jesus specifically tells us that if we believe in our heart and speak with our mouth, we shall have whatsoever we say. Thus, according to these verses, receiving what we say is conditional on alignment with God's will and believing in our heart. So then, how do we align what we say with God's will, and then how do we believe it in our heart??? First, learn what God's will is... Romans 12:2 - Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will. As you continue in the renewing of your mind, learning God's will, your faith will also continue to grow. Romans 10:17 - Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the Word of Christ. NIV. As you continue to seek God, and build a personal relationship with Him, through Christ, your knowledge of God and His will, and your faith will continue to grow. As you practice daily spiritual disciplines such as reading, studying, meditating, listening to God's Word, etc... Your faith will continue to grow. As you continue to SPEAK - MEDITATE - DO according to God's Word, (Joshua 1:8) - Your faith will continue to grow. As your faith continues to grow - YOUR HEART WILL START TO BELIEVE... It is a PROCESS that you must actively endure. Chances are, the first time you speak something from God's will to a situation in your life, you probably won't believe it in your heart. But when you continue to speak God's Word - over and over and over and over - you WILL start to believe it in your heart. SO - SPEAK IT - and SPEAK IT again - and SPEAK IT again - and SPEAK IT again - over and over and over - and don't stop speaking it until you believe it in your heart...
