The Word for Thought

John 15:5 - I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. NIV

John 15:7 - If you remain in Me and My Words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you. NIV

John 15:16 - You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in My name. NIV

Many people try to do the right thing and live a fairly good life, but the only way to truly do this is to be connected to Jesus, (as a branch is attached to a vine). The works of our own efforts will bear no fruit if we are apart from Christ, (apart from Him we can do nothing).

To remain in Christ is to believe that He is God's Son, receive Him as Lord and Savior, and obey His commands. His Word will remain in you if you continually read, study, meditate and believe in the Gospel, and relate it in love to others.

Jesus made the choice to love and die for us long before we had a choice to make. He chose us first, now we need to make the choice to accept or reject His offer. Should you choose to accept, believe, and reveive, the Father will give you whatever you ask, in His name.

Jesus reiterated over and over again, as it were, "What is your request? It shall be granted unto you, even unto the whole of My Kingdom." These words he promised many times, but they are hard for us to fathom and believe. However, if we are to receive - We Must Believe.
