Times of trials and chastening are not an option for a Christian. They are essential for your spiritual growth. God uses them to build your character, and show His love for you. Just as a gardener trims the branches of a tree to make it grow, so God will trim you, not to hurt you, but to help you. John 15:1-2 - My Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. NIV Hebrews 12:11 - Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; never- theless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. NKJV Endure these hardships as pruning, giving thanks and praise to God. You are now a child of God and He loves you. He wants to mold you into a new creation of infinite worth. Be patient, and the fruit of your spiritual growth will soon be evident. Romans 5:3-4 - Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverence; perseverence, character; and character, hope. And hope does not dissapoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. NIV You are now God's child, and like any son (or daughter) you now have access to everything God has to offer. God loves you more than our human minds can fathom. It is an unconditional never- ending love. In fact - God is Love - (I John 4:8) God is King - you are His child - that makes you royalty. Start reading your Bible and learn about the great life of peace and abundance that God has promised. When you start to live your life for God, the true meaning and purpose of your life are revealed. You no longer need to search for that temporary carnal happiness to fill that hole inside you. God fills that void and emptiness with His love, joy, and peace that surpasses all human understanding....
