Phillipians 4:4 - Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! This verse from the letter to the Phillipians was written by Paul while in prison. It may be hard to believe that a man in prison would be telling a church to rejoice. But Paul's attitude can teach us an important lesson. Our inner attitudes do not have to reflect our outer circumstances. Paul was full of joy because he knew that no matter what happened to him Jesus Christ was with him. In fact, Paul urged the Phillipians several times in this letter to be joyful. It's easy for us to get discouraged over unpleasant circumstances, or take certain situations out of context, or look at things in the wrong perspective. Have you been content in all your situations? Are you filled with the joy of Jesus and the peace that surpasses understanding? If not, it may be time for you to change your outlook, and rejoice in the Lord...
